Kiki is a makeup artist who lives between Cairo and New York. Through his long experience with international coordination in business development, he decided to shift his focus to Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility. Although his success, he constantly tried to pursue his artistic interests. A course in fashion illustration and drawing cemented his desire to work with design and style, so be it fashion or otherwise. His first attempt of artistic creation earned him the admiration of his future teachers in Makeup Forever Academy in New York.
Kiki’s work is inspired by his cultural legacy and heritage. He derives a lot of his inspiration from the iconic Egyptian visual culture in cinema, music, and legendary performing arts. In addition to his connection to this context, he draws heavily from glamour and fashion and the various artistic subcultures, ranging from punk rock, Hollywood to drag aesthetic. The vision he aspires for his work is one with constant experimentation with all artistic practices and milieus.
