Week by Week: Your Final Home Alterations
Let’s do this right!
Is this your freedom ticket? The new-found liberty that you’re going to make every use of? You’re finally moving out of the family house and moving in with your partner! It's time for your final home alterations. All the excitement must be kicking in by now. Part of getting ready for the wedding is finalizing the last changes and touches of your new home.
To never miss or mess up any of the little details, follow this checklist and cross out all that you get done!
3 Weeks ahead:
1- Last minute additions and final touches. You may be done with the big modifications but you still haven’t entirely placed every single item where it belongs. If you still have a couple of tableaus and tablecloths in the storage cabinet, the last week before the wedding is the perfect time to get them out and get this whole thing over with.

2- Transfer the wedding gifts. If any of your guests, family, or friends have already presented you with their gifts, move those to your home 3 weeks ahead of the wedding to have enough time to store them or set them up for usage or display.
3- Double check your home facilities and take your new house for a test drive. Spend a day at your new place. Try the electricity cables, the air conditioning, the electronic machines, cooking anything using the stove, checking the gas connections, taking a quick shower or maybe just checking up on the water flow and plumbing. Get comfortable with your new furniture as well to make sure that all is ready for use.

2 Weeks ahead:
1- Clean up the place. After you’ve checked off the previous points, it’s time to clear up any messes before finally, moving in.
2- Arrange your clothes, lingerie, and personal stuff. It’s the best timing to get these things done.
3- Honeymoon luggage. If you’ve already transferred all your stuff to the new place, then just pack what you need for the honeymoon and leave the luggage ready by the door.

1 A week ahead:
1- Time to think about food! This last week is all about tending to what will make you feel welcome and comfortable in your new space after getting back from the honeymoon. Do you prefer to just order in or would you like to have a couple of meals stored in the freezer before you go? Also, do you maybe want to purchase a few basic necessities from the grocers before heading to the airport? Here’s something to think about.

2- Carrying out tasks can be fun if you let a close friend hop on board to give you a fresh perspective and a reliable helping hand. Chill out and cut yourself some slack because your besties are there to help you take of your final home alterations.
