The Bride: 6 Ways to Have Silky Smooth Heels

Large

Dry and cracked heels can be a real pain for any bride to be if not dealt with properly. Not only do neglected soles affect the appearance of your feet, but they can also cause fissures and further inconveniences. In the midst of all your running around, the last thing you want is for your own feet to fail you. However, if you practice the below methods at least once a week, you won’t be left with heels that are constantly crying out for help:

1. A proper foot soak:

The first step is to get rid of dead skin cells by soaking your feet in soapy lukewarm water with an added pinch of sea salt, or a spoonful of sodium carbonate, two tablespoons of vinegar, and a few drops of olive oil. Soak your feet into the mixture for 15-20 minutes until the dead cells start to surface, then on to step number 2.

2. A good scrub:

This bit is crucial because this is when you get rid of not only dead skin cells but also any dry areas on your soles. This step requires a foot scrubber or a pumice stone to remove the hard, thick layers of skin on your feet. Go easy on your soles while scrubbing because you don’t want to hurt or cut them.

3. Toenail care:

Part of taking care of your feet is also tending to your toenails. Cut your nails with a toenail clipper and thoroughly cleanse them. File the edges of your nails so they don’t stick out like deadly spears and remember that regularly cleaning your toenails prevents bad smells and fungi formation.

4. MOISTURIZING:

Your feet is an area in your body that needs constant moisture because of how thick the skin on your soles is. Go for butters and creams that contain shea butter and vitamin E because of how nourishing they are. It’s also good to rub your feet with coconut oil. After moisturizing your feet, put on a pair of cotton socks because it’ll help with your feet’s absorption of the moisture.

5. A breath of fresh air

You have got to expose your feet to air because they need to breathe! Take your shoes off the moment you step into the house. After washing and moisturizing them, keep them out of their cages for a while.

6. Nail polish

There’s no doubt that nail polish makes your toes look amazing! But be careful to always wait for at least two hours after you remove a color from your toenails before you repaint them. If you always wear closed in shoes, then nail repair or strengthening nail polishes are your go-to.
