The 8 Golden Rules for Personal Wedding Preparation

12 months before the wedding

Large

Does a whole year sound like you got too much time on your hands? Because you’re right but you’re also wrong. A lot can be done in a year, that’s true. But besides planning your wedding, readying your future home, and tending to your health and beauty needs, you need a schedule! A timeline to keep you in check and on track at all times.

No worries, child. We’ve already prepared a humble timetable to help you with your quest:

1. Priorities

Two things. First, you need to settle on a budget because after that, you will spend accordingly and all the endless paths will be narrowed down. Second, decide if there’s anything that you feel the need to change about yourself, like the need to drop a few kilos or getting your eyesight fixed. Setting your priorities allows you to see the bigger picture.

2. A solid plan

Nobody knows what you need more than you do, so it's up to you to make a plan for yourself and stick to it. A good plan is important, especially if you’re the type who tends to stray off course or forget things fast. Set a plan and follow it!

3. Dermatologist

Why are dermatologists good for you? Because they help you take care of all that is skin related. Got acne? See your derm. Blotches? See your derm. Oily skin? See your derm. Got no major issues but want to learn how to keep your skin tight and healthy? SEE YOUR DERM.

4. Nail care

A fairly trivial matter but if you truly want to start taking care of your nails because maybe they break easily or maybe you want them to grow faster, then start googling nail care methods, and definitely, hit the nail bar. The nail repair process takes time.

5. Shopping

Categorize your shopping needs (Lingerie, PJs, casual wear, formal wear, etc.) You literally got 12 months to shop, so take your time. Make sure you make use of seasonal sales and offers.

6. MUA

Take all the time in the world to lookup different makeup artists, ask about them, and maybe even meet up with them for trials and all.

7. Hairstylist

If you don’t have a specific hairstylist in mind, start looking ones up, but before you do so, start rummaging for different styles and cuts because you need to find out what you need in the first place. Note: Some stylists are better at updos than others, the same applies to other certain hairstyles, like retro or natural looking curls.

8. Laser hair removal

Since that the process requires various sessions before the wedding, it’s time to start seeking a good clinic in order to get on with it, especially if you’re going to be working on more than one body area.
