Skincare Tips And Tricks To Get You Through Ramadan!

Large

Ramadan is here, and with all the fasting and sweets that we indulge in after breaking fast, we can sometimes forget that our body needs special treatment with our new eating habits, especially with the change of weather that accompanies it. In Ramadan we tend to hydrate less because of the time spent fasting and of course, our eating becomes jagged, considering we eat late at night as well. This change of lifestyle often makes an appearance in our body, especially our face. We might see some dullness, pimples, and spots caused from improper nutrition and hydration habits. This is why it’s important to take extra care of our skin and up to our skincare during Ramadan so we limit any unnecessary breakouts.

The Right Cleanser

Everyone will tell you that you have to ensure you are getting the right amount of water intake, however, it is also important to make sure that you are using the right type of cleanser and skincare products in general so that you can treat your skin right. For oily skin, it’s important to remember to use a cleansing gel as that is the least irritable for your skin and for dry skin you should use milk cleansers because their consistency is ideal when dealing with dry skin and helps you maintain moisture as well.

Moisturise

Using a thick and rich moisturiser is very important during Ramadan as your skin is dehydrated from the lack of water and you want your skin to feel nourished throughout the day. Much like winter skin it needs all the help it can get that’s why using a thick and rich moisturiser is a must. Variations of moisturiser differ based on the consistency your skin reacts well too, but it’s important to moisturise from once to twice a day with your usual skincare routine. Of course, it goes without saying sunscreen is the most important thing to go with your moisturiser is your sunscreen, and the higher the SPF the better.

Balanced Diet

A balanced diet is the most important thing to consider especially if you want to make sure your skin stays in tip-top shape this Ramadan. Although it is very tempting to gorge down on all the sweets and satisfying foods after a long day of fasting, it’s important to take a deep breath and remember not to eat anything just to feel full. Having your balanced amount of vegetables, carbs, proteins is still very important and trying to cut down on grease and dairy should be something to focus on. Also remember that your greens are the most important to keep you and your skin hydrated while fasting, so fruits and vegetables with high amounts of water concentration are often encouraged, like cucumbers, watermelons, etc.
