Setting Priorities after Your Engagement

11 months before the wedding

Large

Congratulations on your engagement! Life must be so damn loco at the moment. Well, we get it. You’re officially engaged and this is definitely a state that needs some getting used to. Making things official means having a new set of responsibilities and we’re here to help. 11 months is a good gap between the engagement and the wedding to get some serious work done. You gotta have your priorities straight if you plan on doing this right, and doing things in small chunks leaves room for you to breathe and not feel totally overwhelmed.

So, what are your priorities now?

1- Money talks, BS walks:

Money, dough, cash, cheese is your number one priority now. EVERYTHING you do from now on depends on the budget that you’re able to set for yourselves (You and your partner). How much do you want to put into this? That’s entirely your call but it’s one that you should make after considering the capacity of your venue, the number of guests, the official ceremony, and the honeymoon expenses. You have got to set, at least, a rough budget for each. Take your time.

2-Time is the first indicator:

There’s a definite correlation between time and money in your case. If money’s the brain, time is the heart. Setting a wedding date establishes your deadlines and checklists, so ask yourselves, when would you like your wedding to take place? Bearing in mind the time of year, national holidays, and other important family engagements because all these factors contribute to your choice of date.

3- Let’s fantasize a little:

How would you like your wedding to be? Would you like a hipster, cozy gathering type of wedding or a massive, glamorous event that’ll blow everyone away? Are you thinking outdoor or indoor? The two of you must surely have at least a slight idea of the things you want or don’t want for the big day. It’s okay to NOT want to have a traditional wedding and to want to soar with your imagination in order to be able to narrow down from there. Just decide what type of wedding you want as a starting point. That’s your priority now.

Money, time, and type of wedding are the three issues that should be on your mind now. Best of luck in your search for the best options out there. We’ll be with you!
