How to Stay Fit During the Quarantine as Your Wedding Approaches!

Large

Technically everyone around the world is now in quarantine to fight the infamous Coronavirus (covid19). One could say that the world is finally united against an invisible enemy.  No, we don’t mean aliens. And not even the so-called spiky greenish virus. It’s much more serious than that. While we think we might be staying safe at home, real danger starts to lurk in through the walls and finds its way to our stomachs, arms, thighs, and butts.

We all know what boredom can do to our sanity! Let’s face it, most people nowadays are staying in either ordering fast food or trying out countless recipes at home. We sit there on the couch binging because we’re simply not used to such a sedentary life. Even if we find many things to do around the house boredom will eventually creep in, thus we will binge eat and at last, we will gain weight! It’s just inevitable and that is why we must stay active as much as we can during the quarantine or else we will be doomed! Here’s how to stay active and fit before your wedding during quarantine!

1) Creating your workout space at home:

Think of it as a break from your gym and as a new challenge to get fit at your own home using minimal equipment. Make space at your apartment for your home workout spot. Be it the reception, bedroom, living room, or even the balcony. Of course, if you happen to have a garden you must make the most out of it.

2) Create or buy your equipment:

Gather up all the equipment you have and place it in your workout spot.  Equipment to consider buying are: stretching and exercise bands, jumping rope, dumbbells, exercise or yoga matt, TRX (only if you have a suitable place), or any other weights you have. You could buy some of these online through sports stores like Decathlon, Sports Mall, Souq, or you can create your own equipment. Try filling up a backpack with heavy books to use for back squats, or you can hold it upfront for lunges and front squats. Use water bottles for dumbbells.

3) Control your diet:

We tend to eat more when we're together. We are staying home meaning there will be more people around the house all the time. Us Egyptians love the company and we love cooking delicious food. As long as you’re working out at least 4 times a week you can treat yourself, but take care of how often you do that! As for the diet plan, you can have several small meals a day instead of intermittent fasting.

4) Set a daily time for your exercise:

Set a time for your daily exercise and try to stick to it as much as you can. It’s best to get it done first thing in the morning before you get too sluggish about the idea. It's true, we all get lazy before we start but once we do the motivation kicks in and not to mention the satisfaction when the results start showing on our bodies!

5) Follow trainers online:

Are you worried about not finding the right routines to follow at home? Problem solved, the internet is full of online workouts and entire programs at your service. Not to mention that most of the gyms in Egypt are creating daily workouts for their followers on Instagram like Golds Gyms, TD Athletics, and many others. Follow a trainer or several ones and try out the exercises that best suits you.

6) Cardio home subs:

If you can’t go to the gyms and cross fit boxes you can easily try out countless home workouts. As for the cardio you can run up and down the stairs if you can’t go down to run. Also, try HIT training which is a great way to substitute running with. Just 30 min of hit will burn more calories than a 30 min run would!

7) Team up:

It’s best to make your own team to get each other motivated and driven. Team up with your partner, friends, family members, basically everyone interested to keep their fitness level high during the quarantine. People need to stay active and exercise to be able to fight Coronavirus (covid19) and that’s a great way to initially start convincing people to join! Use any online platform to train or even follow-up with each other.
