In life, we're surrounded by different tastes and styles. The same can be said about photographs and photography styles. Your wedding photographs should look like you, as in, they should reflect who you are as a couple. While searching for the right wedding photographer, you need to be aware of certain points and learn a bit about the profession itself first in order to know what makes a good photo and why.

Let's begin this crash course by taking a full online tour, going through Pinterest boards, Instagram accounts, google images, and even your own previous liked photos on social media. Remember what you love about wedding photos, whose pictures once caught your eye, and the photography style that instantly grabs your attention.

To cut it short, there are mainly 4 types of wedding photography:

1. The classic style:

In which the photographer uses the traditional poses, the familiar coloring techniques and frames while focusing on the bigger picture rather than the little details. This style is basically associated with comfort, joy, relaxation. No action, no risks, and no going wild.

2. The artistic style:

A style of photography that allows photographs to show all kinds of emotions. If you want your photographs to speak to you and truly showcase your feelings then go for this particular style. This style is full of energy, ideas, creativity, movement, people, smiles, dancing scenes, and vivid colors.

3. The journalistic style:

This style unfolds itself like a story that's being told, sort of like a photo essay with an intro, body, and outro. The photographer here is usually a storyteller who is too organized, has a fixed pattern, and places the story on a pedestal.

4. The dramatic style:

A style that's packed with little details that shape the photographs and make all the difference. The photographer here focuses on the many puzzle pieces, one at a time.
