How to Ace Sleeping the Night before Your Wedding Day

The 7 tips that will help you rest up right!

Large

All brides and grooms want to feel fresh and revived on their wedding day. But the night before the wedding can be annoying in so many ways, especially when the thoughts kick in, anxiety starts taking over, and you find yourself lying in bed unable to doze off on the night that you need it the most.

1. Pajamas:

Comfort comes first. Whatever it is that you like to sleep in; a nightshirt, a onesie, your birthday suit, etc. slip into it and spray it with vanilla or lavender; two scents that calm the senses and send one on a unicorn ride to sleepy town.

2. Warm baths:

Taking a warm bath before going to bed can work wonders because it helps you relax and unwind. It’s better to fill the tub with hot water, throw in your bath bomb, bath salts, or bath oils, give it some time to settle, and then get in. Watch your troubles slither away.

3. Lights:

Keep the room dimly lit. Let your eyes get used to the ambiance, in order for them to signal to your brain that this is the time for your goodnight lullaby.

4. Bedtime Teas:

Bedtime teas ARE a thing and they work. Make yourself a nice cup of hot chamomile, lavender, or lemon balm tea before slipping under the covers. These types of teas are used to treat insomnia, nervousness, and headaches. They’re all natural, too.

5. Scented Candles:

You can turn off all your lights and only keep one scented candle burning in the room. Not only does this help with the atmosphere, but it also keeps your space smelling marvelous. Make sure your candle is naturally scented to avoid the bad artificial fumes that could be dangerous to your health and never go to sleep with a burning candle within sight.

6. Controlling the thoughts:

Control your thoughts on focusing on the blank. Literally, just close your eyes and picture the blank that automatically washes away the thoughts with it. Whatever it is that you’re nervous about, you can obsess over it in the morning.

7. Faint music and a book:

Play something along the lines of Für Elise in the background and curl up with your favorite book in bed to ease you into sleeping faster.
